Fourth of July in Denver

Two of my college friends made a trip out to Denver for the 4th of July. They got in the night of the 3rd and stayed through Sunday the 7th.  We headed to the civic center fireworks right after they got in. We rode our bikes last year and got there about an hour before it started.  This year we decided to have a drink before we called a cab (we don't have enough bikes for out of town guests) and got there at 9:20.  We nearly missed the fireworks! Thankfully we caught the last 5 minutes or so, but we were surprised how early they started.

We spent the 4th hanging out in our backyard while the guys smoked ribs, the girls made some drinks and we all played some games. It was a beautiful day!

Friday night we went to Linger for drinks on the roof followed by dinner.  I love the view from the roof and they finally finished the renovations.  It was my first time sitting down there for dinner and it was SO good! They have a ton of small plates, which is great for a group.  We got the goat tacos, duck bun (both very good and unique), Devils on Horseback (delicious but probably easy to make yourself), Chicken B'stilla (very odd flavors, not sure I would get it again) and the Beef Tenderloin. The beef was AMAZING. We probably could have ordered 3 of those!

Saturday we went to Lucile's for brunch, which was the same place we went with Matt's parents when they were in town last fall. We then finished the day off at Carmine's on Penn with our favorite Chicken Montana dish.

I totally failed and barely have pictures of anything other than the 4th, so next time we go to these restaurants, I will have to take a pic since they are our favorite places in Denver!
